School design for a new century

The school design gave Mosaic's architects a chance to define an entrance to the previously hard-to-find gymnasium by forming an exterior plaza with built-in benches.

Mosaic expanded the middle school cafetorium out the back 3,800 square feet, creating a new kitchen, a bleacher area and stage for the drama and music departments’ rehearsals and performances. The stage area includes new sound, acoustic, lighting and fly systems and storage for costumes and sets.

Mosaic architects took advantage of the fact that the cafeteria addition had to be constructed on two levels to create distinct areas for study groups and meetings – without limiting sightlines for supervision.
