On Wednesday, June 15, the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District held a ceremonial groundbreaking to kick off the new STEAM addition to the High School building. Representatives from the District, Board of Education, BH-BL High School Student Representatives, Mosaic Associates Architects, LeChase Construction and U.W. Marx celebrated the beginning of the project. It’s an exciting time for the BH-BL community as the largest phase of the district’s $34.2 million voter-approved Building Our 2nd Century renovations project gets underway.
The STEAM wing will include classrooms and labs for hands-on work in areas such as advanced manufacturing, robotics, electronics, computer science, graphic design, applied math, 2-D and 3-D art, computer-aided design, and digital music.
The addition is expected to be completed in the 2017-18 school year.
