Matthew Gaspary, AIA Promoted to Principal

Matthew Gaspary - Associate Principal; AIA

Mosaic Associates Architects is pleased to announce the promotion of Matt Gaspary to principal.

Since joining our firm after graduation, Matt has played a key role in K-12 reconstruction projects, collaborating with school districts like Saratoga Springs, Troy, and Glens Falls. He was also integral to the design of the CAMS Building at Hudson Valley Community College, which opened in 2018.

“Matt’s promotion to principal is a well-deserved recognition of his significant professional contributions and leadership within our firm,” said Theresa Moroukian, principal and director of finance and human resources. “His dedication to K-12 projects has made a lasting impact, and we look forward to the continued value he will bring to both our firm and the community in his new role.”

In his new position, Gaspary remains focused on the challenges and rewards of designing educational facilities, particularly integrating new materials with existing structures. “The CAMS Building is a great example of this approach,” he explained. “It was a large, complex project, completed on time and within budget, thanks to a fantastic team of contractors.”

Gaspary also acknowledged the industry’s challenges, such as rising construction costs and new safety measures in schools. “We must adapt and find creative solutions to keep projects within budget while meeting clients’ evolving needs,” he said, noting that he is committed to mentoring Mosaic’s younger staff and developing future leaders.

A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with degrees in architecture and building sciences, Gaspary is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is also a graduate of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Institute.

Beyond his professional work, Gaspary is an active community volunteer, supporting the City Mission of Schenectady’s Weekend Backpack Program, participating in Mosaic’s CANstruction team, and volunteering with local youth sports organizations.

He and his wife, Mosaic Principal Callie Gaspary, stay active with their three sons’ soccer, baseball, and golf practices and games.
