Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake CSD STEAM Addition and Upgrades

Burnt Hills, New York

This $34 million project provides 21st-century upgrades to the learning environments in each of the district’s five school buildings, including a dedicated STEAM addition (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) at the high school. Other elements of the project include critical infrastructure/energy conservation improvements, athletic/physical education enhancements and safety/security upgrades.

STEAM Addition

In particular, the high school STEAM addition is designed to provide large, open and collaborative project-based labs for inter-disciplinary learning in Materials Processing, CNC/Metals, Robotics and STEAM Fabrication. These labs are centered around a shared Technology classroom with breakout space. Also included in the STEAM addition is a suite of Art Studios with a Digital Arts Computer Lab, as well as large Learning Studios for Computer Science, CTE (Career and Technical Education), and a Math Lab.

Other highlights of the project include an upgrade to the High School Library to create a 21st century Learning Commons, renovations to create a Black Box Theater and Multimedia Auditorium and a new synthetic turf multipurpose athletic field and track complex.
